The defending All-Filipino champions, already playing minus the injured Jimmy Alapag plus Harvey Carey and Ranidel De Ocampo not yet 100 percent, will be without Ali Peek when they go up against a determined Powerade side at 7:30 p.m. after the 5:15 p.m. opening match between Petron and winless Shopinas.com.

Talk 'N Text coach Chot Reyes denied Tuesday rumors that Tropang Texters big man Ali Peek underwent surgery following a shooting incident in Mandaluyong City Monday evening.

Reyes said on his Twitter account that Peek was resting as of late Tuesday afternoon. "Reports that Ali Peek has undergone surgery are NOT TRUE. He's sleeping right now."

DESPITE coming off a big win last Sunday, Talk N Text coach Chot Reyes is wary of an opponent that had been beaten badly on the same day.

“I’m pretty sure they will come out with their best effort because their last game was a disaster for them,” said Reyes of the Powerade Tigers whom the Tropang Texters will lock horns with at 7:30 pm Wednesday at the Smart Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City.
